Stay Cable Testing

SDI has completed the full scale testing required for approval of its stay cable system per PTI DC45.1-12.

Approval testing, performed at CTL Group’s laboratory in Skokie, IL consisted of the following:

2 million cycle fatigue test
Tensile test loaded to 95% GUTS or 92% AUTS
96 hour Leak Test

Per PTI, each test specimen is subjected to two tests. First a fatigue and then either the tensile or leak test. In an effort to better demonstrate the quality and performance of our system, SDI exceeded the required test program and ran all three tests on a single specimen. SDI was the first stay cable supplier to pass all three tests on the first attempt.
